We recently celebrated my mother's 89th birthday. If I had to choose one word to describe my mother, it would be LOVE. She loves everybody she meets. In all of my 57 years, I have never seen my mom in a bad mood. I have seen her mad plenty of times, but never in a bad mood. As you can tell by the pictures that follow, there are a lot of people not related to my mother, who also love her very much. Happy Birthday Mom!!

Man's Best Friend

We got about 8 in. of snow this week. Since I'm not fan of cold weather or being out in it, I'm so grateful that Alan has his Great Danes, Thor and Xena. They love running with Alan and playing in the snow. I took these pictures from inside the house. That's how big of a weenie I am!!

Christmas with Mayfields/Meadows bunch 2009

Another year has come and in a few days be gone forever. When I was younger, I would always complain wishing I was older so I could do more things. My momma would say to me, "Sis, one day the days will just fly by and you will wish they would slow down." Oh how I wish they would slow down! I now know exactly what she was talking about. 2009 seems to have gone by so fast. I have so much to be thankful for. I'm looking forward to a great 2010. Christmas Party 2009

Our annual Christmas Party was held on Dec. 12th at a restaurant called Touch. The food was awsome. It's one of my favorite upscaled restaurants in Springfield. Afterward we had a limo pick us up at the restaurant and spoiled us for a couple of hours. A few bottles of champagne was passed around and we toasted to a great 2010!! Here are a few pictures of our good time.

The Beginning of Fall

My daughter and her husband came for a visit this Sept. I miss them so so so much. Phone calls do help when they live so far away, but a kiss and hug are so much better. I enjoyed just being with them for a week. Maybe someday they will get to move back home. In the mean time I will just have to settle for those awaited phone calls!!
This is my favorite time of year. The air has gotten cooler, no humidity, and the leaves are just beginning to change colors. These are my mums that I am surprised got this big. I think I will plant more next year. It is very stormy today, so these flowers probably won't look this good for very long. But at least I have proof that I can grow them!!!!
This is our brand new Grandson, Carter Daniel Mayfield. Born Oct.4th, weighed 8lbs. 5oz. Don't you just want to kiss those little chubby cheeks!! I just wished the world would get better for our grandchildren. It's kind of scary to think about what they may have to face in this crazy cruel world.
